CREATIVE DIRECTOR

SENIOR POSITION – VANCOUVER, CANADA

We’re looking for a passionate and experienced Creative Director to join our growing team in our Vancouver studio. This is a high-profile position that has a critical impact on the success of our games. The successful candidate will work closely with the Studio Head to drive the growth of the studio through the careful development of its games roadmap.

As a Creative Director, you will be responsible for the creative development and the visual quality of our casino games. You will be the central figure of our Creative Department and oversee the art, animation, and music development effort as a whole and guide the future of all our games. You will also oversee the development and maintenance of a strong studio brand identity.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing & mentoring the Creative Team through strong leadership with artists, animators, composers, and sound engineers.
  • Providing feedback and guidance to the members of our Creative Team.
  • Managing the Creative Team daily tasks, assignments, backlogs, sprints, and reviews ensuring our games are delivered on schedule.
  • Using Jira, work logs, and KPI reports to measure team performance and resource capacity ensuring that optimal team output.
  • Initiating, managing, and conducting recruitment efforts and interviews for the Creative Team.
  • Managing relationships with our outsource partners.
  • Supporting & assisting the Creative Team with the creation of game materials from concept through final delivery.
  • Supporting & assisting the Design Team and Game Producers with game specifications and the Game Design Document.
  • Reviewing game assets and materials to assess their quality and relevance to the game specifications.
  • Ensuring game assets are developed and optimized for best performance and highest possible game fidelity.
  • Setting and sharing best practices, tools, quality standards, SOP’s, production pipelines, productivity, and workflows within the Creative Team, and identifying areas of improvement with our work process.
  • Following each game’s development workflow through final release to ensure the final game is the highest quality possible and fulfills the expectations of the Product Owner.
  • Supporting Marketing and Sales efforts in marketing, promoting and selling the games to our customers.
  • Establishing and maintaining a positive studio brand.

Required:

  • 3+ years as a Creative Director, Art Director, or 5+ years as a Slot Game Producer in the iGaming space.
  • BA/BS in fine art, illustration, graphic design, or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong track-record of leading slot game art with the successful production of premium quality online slot games.
  • Strong understanding of online casino game art, with focus on optimizing games for all platforms.
  • Ability to adapt different art styles in designing & developing characters, backgrounds, marketing messages, win celebrations, and game symbols.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite.

Developing a game naturally produces obstacles. If you’ve got a knack for hunting bugs and an analytical approach to issues this may be the fit for you.

You’ll be in charge of:

      • Testing new and existing features, debugging code and reporting errors and failures
      • Working collaboratively with the dev team to correct errors and participating in testing for game releases
      • Gathering requirements
      • Testing automation and test methodology

The ideal candidate will have:

      • 2+ years of experience as a QA Tester or in a related field
      • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering or college diploma in QA Testing
      • Knowledge of various programming languages (e.g. Java, C++, TypeScript)
      • Experience using web-based and mobile testing frameworks
